Playing catch-up

So much has been going on, on the last couple of months, I now not only need to catch up on posting, I also need to catch-up on my work. I have potter friends who are what we call... production potters. Well..... that is NOT what I am.... I am a studio potter. I think the main difference is that a production potter can throw constantly and a studio potter is led more by how they feel. I may be wrong, but that is the main difference I see between the two.

So, being a studio potter and having orders pending can be very stressful... particularly when you are trying to make a living out of it. I can't really create, because I am stressed out.... and I get even more stressed, because I am not able to create.... See my dilemma? The worse thing about it is that when you fall just a bit behind, not all customers can understand delay.... although, some are different.... I have some customers who don't really mind if it takes me longer to make their pieces, because they know that at the end they are going to get, not only what they order, but something that is going to look just like they expect.


Nonetheless..... it is no excuse... just the reason for having fallen behind. I now find myself overloaded with work and trying to catch up. This does not mean that I am no longer stressed, on the contrary.... now I have the stress that I need to catch up.... haha!!! Oh, sorry.... I already said that.... see what I mean by being stressed? Can't seem to win for losing!!!!

What am I working on? Cups.... espresso cups and mugs and a couple of orders that just came in. Oh.... and let's not forget that I also have to finish designing the menorahs... AND I need to make some oil lamps.... Ok.... if I keep thinking, I will have a longer list of things I need to be making. Well, I guess I better get to work and see what happens....
